TÜV
is an abbreviation for three German words (Technisher
Überwachungs- Verein) meaning “Technical Inspection and
Monitoring Union”.
The mark
TÜV is a registered logo under international protection
and only those companies can use this mark that is accordance
with Germany’s TÜV’s unions (Verein deutscher TÜV -
VdTÜV) at least 25 percent of their stocks belong to
one of the registered TÜV’s in Germany.
In the
late of 19th century TÜV organizations were
formed in order to inspect and monitor of processes and products
in different industrial fields.

organizations were established for performing services as third
party and offering of technical knowledge.

have been established during of 1869-1873.
The
shareholders of the TÜV NORD GmbH are the long established
technical inspection bodies RWTÜV, TÜV Nord and TÜV Hannover /
